Co-Investigator
Dr. Adrienne Chan is a co-investigator and is jointly responsible for the intellectual direction of the research in general and for the site in British Columbia. She is on faculty at the School of Social Work and Human Services at the University of the Fraser Valley. Dr. Chan previously obtained research funding from funding agencies/councils and she has experience in managing research projects, including research conceptualization, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Dr. Chan holds particular expertise on child welfare issues for families from diverse ethno-racial backgrounds. Dr. Chan brings considerable insights into the general area of services for cultural, racial, and marginalized groups, educational matters relating to diversity, and anti-oppressive and empowerment approaches to policy and practice. More recently she has embarked on several projects with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, the child welfare agency in British Columbia. She also has sustained relationships with non-profit organizations that work with culturally diverse populations, women, and families.
